This being human thing can sometimes be a tough gig.
Every day is filled with change, challenge, decisions, risks and opportunities for growth and success.
Times will be GOOD and times will be bad. But whether it’s good or bad in the moment doesn’t mean it will be that way forever. Momentary pain and suffering can be in service of medium or long term upside. But still our tendency is to try to avoid the inevitable and therein lies our struggle. Trading the illusion of safety for success.
"Life is suffering"
Buddha
This recent quote from the fabulous Mark Manson is a nice little take on it:
“Embrace embarrassment. Feeling foolish is part of the path to achieving something important, something meaningful. The more a major life decision scares you, chances are the more you need to be doing it.”
My experience?
I see too many people trying to remove all ‘the suck’, potential for embarrassment and risk from life and business decisions. Avoiding vulnerability, discomfort and the healthy friction of conflict won’t save you.
Being human is messy.
Be DARING with it!
