Dr. Linda Dear – Founder of Menodoctor & author of the NZ Menopause Survey 2023

Peri/menopause has the potential for significant (if temporary) impacts on the leadership capacity of women/people with ovaries all over the world – something which is only now being realised by organisations across Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.

With over 4,000 respondents, Dr. Linda Dear‘s NZ-specific survey is as data rich as anything completed in recent times in other countries, including the UK and Australia, and reveals valuable insights for the medical profession, government policy writers, and employers.

Linda is a UK trained doctor and certified Menopause Practitioner with the North American Menopause Society. She is a fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and the Director of Menodoctor – a private menopause clinic based in New Zealand.

Linda holds a post-graduate diploma in Women’s Health from the UK Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She is also a Psychology graduate, ACT therapist, certified Personal Fitness Trainer and Ashtanga Yoga teacher.

Through Menodoctor, Linda brings together all of this expertise to offer women across New Zealand holistic and personalised consultations to support them through their perimenopause and menopause journeys.

In our conversation Linda and I discuss:

  • The creation of her Menodoctor specialist menopause practice
  • What sparked her NZ-focused Menopause Survey
  • The biggest surprises and strongest messages from the data
  • Specific WORKPLACE related insights; and
  • Her recommendations for organisations wanting to do more about raising awareness and supporting people going through peri/menopause.
