Kate Billing is a human obsessed, leadership pragmatist with 25+ years in the people, culture and leadership space. She is New Zealand’s leading voice on human-centred leadership and the intersection of gender/age equity in our workplaces.
Always connected to her diverse global community, Kate brings the cool stuff that’s happening ‘out there’ to New Zealand and takes the best of her home-grown wisdom to the world.
Kate has undertaken deep development work on herself over the years, continuing to push her personal evolution to better support others in theirs. She believes a lifetime commitment to ‘doing the work’ herself, with all the productive struggle that brings, is fundamental to helping others live and lead better.
Taking a human-centred approach to development means placing curiosity and understanding for all it is to be human and our shared common humanity at the centre of leadership and it development.
Along with developing capability, our human-centred development approach includes raising awareness of context across multiple dimensions, deliberately growing capacity, and cultivating community in order to offer support, expand awareness and access diverse perspectives.
To create our Fully Human experiences, we combine vertical development (exploring our ways of thinking, feeling and making sense of the world and the people around us) and horizontal development (acquisition of new knowledge and skills) with understanding the way we’re wired as humans (individually and collectively) and how that supports and sidelines our intentions and efforts to both learn and lead.

“Kate is a marvel and the best leadership specialist I’ve worked with. Kate brings an incredible level of energy combined with groundedness, humour and pragmatism. She masterfully gets to your innermost triggers and enables you to move through your own dawning reality, identifying what needs to be true to make significant and impactful changes. I can’t recommend her enough.”

“I’ve worked with Kate in two organisations now, and each time she has had a significant impact. She brings so much knowledge of how humans think and behave from across multiple disciplines and distils it into what the group needs most at that stage in our journey. With Kate it’s more than imparting knowledge, it’s about listening, challenging, joining dots and guiding us to the aha moments we need to have, then holding us accountable for what we say we’ll do.”

“Kate is an impact player and an incredibly gifted facilitator who is curious about everything. What I love about her, (apart from being super cool!) is that she cares deeply about people and is passionate about connected leaders and fully human organisations. Kate is simply one of the best humans I’ve worked with.”
