Last month we completed the first EVER cohort of our Turning Point Programme, a 6-month human-centred development experience designed to help executive and senior women leaders navigate the Turning Point and embrace the midlife power of their leadership: at work, at home, and in the communities in which they are called to lead.
I was joined by an incredible group of ‘early adopter’ women who resonated with the Midlife Turning Point experience of:
- Feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and wondering if they were on the path to burnout
- Struggling to juggle the many and varied demands of their roles across life, work and leadership
- Measuring themselves against impossible and often conflicting expectations as a woman, daughter, partner, mother, friend, and leader
- Prioritising the needs and wellbeing of others before their own
- Surprised by the arrival of peri/menopause, its symptoms and impact
- Navigating the tricky dynamics of The Boys Club, Queen Bees, and Mean Girls; and
- Backsliding in confidence, despite their significant experience and credentials, with growing negative self-talk about their visibility, value and relevance.
Drawn from global brands in management consulting, healthcare and hospitality, and local organisations from the energy and insurance sectors, recruitment services, and leading retail brands, this group of women brought with them 40-60+ years of lived experience and decades in the leadership game.
They were all the major or sole breadwinner in their homes, represented the full spread of embodied experiences for women including 80% currently finding their way through perimenopause, and were all navigating the complexity of the physical, psychological, relational and social shifts the temporary midlife transition brings with it for women.
Over the course of our time together they all rediscovered themselves, reprioritised their wellbeing, and renewed their leadership.
Using our Human-centred Leadership Impact Model, every woman explored and honed her leadership across four domains, starting with Self and extending in the direction of not just Work, but also their Home Team leadership and relationships, and those in the Communities in which they live, lead and work.
Universally described as a ‘game changer’ by the group, this development experience delivered everything expected AND MORE! You can hear from the women themselves in the quotes and stories they’ve generously provided as part of the TURNING POINT 2025 brochure, along with details of the programme content and intended impact.
If you find yourself a little (or a lot!) stuck in the middle of life and leadership, and can relate the experience of being ‘in the turning point’ with all the challenges, collisions AND opportunities it brings, check out the Turning Point programme information here on our website and request a brochure.
The 2025 programme runs from February to August 2025 (blended combo of in-person and on-line) with applications closing on Wednesday 18 December 2024, or earlier if our cohort is complete.
I’d love you to join me!
